One Whole Year in Peacehaven
Wow! We have just completed our first year here in Peacehaven. And to celebrate we have had a few promotional photos taken by local guy, Steven Brooks of Brooks Original Photos.
We also had a small gathering of regular customers, friends and supporters around on the afternoon of Friday 16th March to share a cake and a coffee with us.
If you haven’t come across us yet, we are an American-style cafe serving reasonably priced vegan comfort food. We have pancake stacks, burgers, fries, nachos, coffee, brownies, cookies and more.
There is also a small range of gluten-free options including two homemade burgers, panini, brownies and our homemade pancakes.
The cafe is small and cosy. We have tried to create a friendly, community atmosphere where people can chat to each other and children can leaf through the books in our little library. Two local vegan groups have meet ups here on a regular basis and we have a box of leaflets, magazines and other interesting items fore you to dip into (and take away if you wish). We also host a monthly book club. Please see our FB page and website for all the latest details.
Hope to see you here soon
Anne (cook) and Julie (barista)

Thanksgiving Supper
on Thursday evening 23rd November we served a three course vegan Thanksgiving meal to 12 people. We began the evening with corn chowder and bread rolls. The main course was stuffed tofu, maple-roasted root veggies, green beans with pesto and piles of mashed potatoes. All washed down with lashings of red wine gravy and cranberry sauce. After a little rest, they tucked into pumpkin pie with cream and ice cream. Everybody had a great time, some brought their own wine and beer, and we ended the meal with teas and coffees.
As part of the celebration, we gave 10% of our takings to Hen Heaven and more money was collected on the night making a total of £50. This means we are now collectively the proud sponsors of a rescued turkey 🦃 who has been given the name “Tofurkey”.
Also on the night we came up with a sexy new strap line for the cafe: “a vegan haven” and this is now clearly and proudly being displayed on our windows.
Thanks to all who came along, we have lots to be thankful for, here’s to a repeat celebration next year!
